Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 In which are high thrones. 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
