Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
