Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
