Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets set at hand 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
