Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
