Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
