Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
