In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
