Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread around. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
