Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
