Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
