Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
