Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
