Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
