Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
