Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
