Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
