Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 and raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
