Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a high Garden. 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
