Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
