Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
