Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 Goblets set, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
