Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
