Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
