Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
