Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
