Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a high Garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
