Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
