Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
