Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and arranged cushions 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
