Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
