Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
