Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 labouring, weary, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
