Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
