Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a Garden on high, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
