Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
