Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
