Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
