Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
