Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
