Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
