Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the daybreak, 1 And by oath of ten nights. 2 And by the even and the odd, 3 And the night when it departs. 4 Is there (not) in these an adjuration (or evidence) for those who understand? 5 Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? 6 Of Eram with lofty pillars (erected as signposts in the desert), 7 the like of which was never created in the land, 8 and Thamood, who hollowed the rocks in the valley, 9 And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - 10 Who committed inordinacy in the cities, 11 and exceeded in corruption therein. 12 So your Lord poured a scourge of punishment over them. 13 Indeed, your Lord is in observation. 14 And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me." 15 But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' 16 No indeed, but you show no kindness to the orphan, 17 And do not urge one another to feed the needy. 18 Why do you take away the inheritance of others indiscriminately 19 and love the riches, loving them ardently. 20 Most certainly when the earth is smashed and blown to bits. 21 and your Lord comes with the angels, rank upon rank, 22 and Hell is made to appear on that Day, then man will be mindful, but what will being mindful then avail him? 23 He will say: "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life [to come]!" 24 None can punish as He will punish on that day, 25 And none will bind as He will bind. 26 O you tranquil soul, 27 Return unto thine Lord well pleased and well-pleasing. 28 Join My servants. 29 "Yea, enter thou My Heaven! 30
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
