Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dawn 1 And by oath of ten nights. 2 And [by] the even [number] and the odd 3 And by the night when it departs. 4 There surely is an oath for thinking man. 5 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad 6 the people of the huge columned city of Eram 7 the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world? 8 And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? 9 And the mighty Pharaoh 10 [It was they] who transgressed all bounds of equity all over their lands, 11 and worked much corruption therein? 12 Wherefore thy Lord poured on them the scourge of His torment. 13 Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). 14 As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." 15 But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!" 16 By no means! But ye honour not the orphan, 17 nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 And you devour inheritance all with greed, 19 and you love wealth with an ardent love 20 But no; when the earth is ground to powder, 21 And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, 22 On that day, hell will be brought closer and the human being will come to his senses, but this will be of no avail to him. 23 He shall say, 'O would that I had forwarded for my life!' 24 Then on that Day Allah will chastise as none other can chastise; 25 None bindeth as He then will bind. 26 O you tranquil soul, 27 Return towards your Lord you being pleased with Him, and He pleased with you! 28 So enter among My (righteous) servants 29 enter My Paradise! 30
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
