Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the daybreak, 1 and ten nights, 2 And by oath of the even and the odd. 3 by the night when it journeys on! 4 Why is there an oath in this, for the intelligent? 5 Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the 'Ad (people),- 6 The people of many-columned lram. 7 The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? 8 And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley, 9 and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 10 They were tyrants in the land 11 and worked much corruption therein? 12 Wherefore thy Lord poured on them the scourge of His torment. 13 Indeed, your Lord is in observation. 14 BUT AS FOR man, whenever his Sustainer tries him by His generosity and by letting him enjoy a life of ease, he says, "My Sustainer has been [justly] generous towards me"; 15 But when he tries him and stints for him his provision, then he says, 'My Lord has despised me.' 16 No! But you show no good to the orphan, 17 nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 and greedily devour the entire inheritance, 19 And love wealth with all your heart. 20 Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, 21 And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, 22 And Hell, that Day, is brought (face to face),- on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance profit him? 23 He will say: “Would that I had sent ahead what would be of avail for this life of mine!” 24 None punisheth as He will punish on that day! 25 and none can bind with bonds like His. 26 (To the righteous soul will be said:) "O (thou) soul, in (complete) rest and satisfaction! 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], 28 Enter among My servants 29 "Yea, enter thou My Heaven! 30
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
