The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by this city, Makkah - 1 And thou art a freeman of this City;- 2 And the begetter and whom he begot. 3 indeed, We created man in trouble. 4 Deemest he that none will overpower him? 5 He says: "I have wasted a great deal of wealth." 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Have We not appointed to him two eyes, 8 One tongue, and two lips, 9 And did We not guide him to the two elevated things? 10 But he has not broken through the difficult pass. 11 And what have you understood, what the valley is! 12 To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery), 13 or, in a day of famine, the feeding of 14 An orphan near of kin, 15 Or the poor in distress; 16 Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion. 17 Such are they that have attained to righteousness; 18 But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand. 19 Over them will be fire closed in. 20
True are the words of God the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
تشير بداية ونهاية كل سورة الى السور المنزلة قبلها و بعدها. يمكنك الضغط على أي منها للذهاب إليها.
The beginning and end of every Surah mention the Surahs sent down before and after. You can click or tap on either one to go there.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
