The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No, I swear by this country (Mecca), 1 And you are free (from sin, to punish the enemies of Islam on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah). 2 And [by] the father and that which was born [of him], 3 Verily, We have created man in toil. 4 Does he think that no one has power over him? 5 saying, 'I have consumed wealth abundant'? 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Did We not assign unto him two eyes 8 and a tongue, and two lips, 9 And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 And what do you know what that difficult steep is? 12 To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery), 13 or the feeding in times of famine 14 an orphaned relative 15 Or a needy person in misery 16 And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion. 17 They are the people of the right hand (and will succeed). 18 And those who disbelieve in Our signs, they are the Companions of the Left Hand; 19 [with] fire closing in upon them. 20
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
