The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by yonder city 1 and you are dwelling in this city -- 2 by the begetter, and that he begot, 3 We verily have created man in an atmosphere: 4 Does he think that no one can overpower him? 5 He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance." 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- 8 a tongue, and two lips? 9 Have We not shown him the ways of good and evil? 10 But he could not scale the steep ascent. 11 and what shall teach thee what is the steep? 12 (It is) Freeing a neck (slave, etc.) 13 And to feed in the day of hunger. 14 The orphan near in relationship, 15 Or of a homeless needy person! 16 so that he becomes one of those who believe, charge each other to be patient, and charge each other to be merciful. 17 These are the people of the right hand. 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 Over them will be fire closed in. 20
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
