The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 by the sky and how He built it 5 And the earth and Him Who spread it, 6 Consider the human self, and how it is formed in accordance with what it is meant to be, 7 and inspired it with knowledge of evil and piety, 8 prosperous is he who purified it, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy, 11 when the most wicked man among them rose up. 12 So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
