The Sun (Al-Shams)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 And the moon as she follows in his wake, 2 And by oath of the day when it reveals it 3 And by oath of the night when it hides it 4 by the sky and how He built it 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression (by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism, and by following polytheism, and by committing every kind of sin). 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 then the Messenger of God said to them, 'The She-camel of God; let her drink!' 13 But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
