Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sun and its radiant brightness, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 And the day when it revealeth him, 3 And by oath of the night when it hides it 4 Consider the sky and its wondrous make, 5 and by the earth and by Him Who stretched it out; 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 And inspired in it the knowledge of its sins and its piety. 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism or by following polytheism, etc. or by doing every kind of evil wicked deeds). 10 (The tribe of) Thamud denied (the truth) in their rebellious pride, 11 When the most wretched of them was sent forth. 12 The Messenger of God told them, "This is a she-camel, belonging to God. Do not deprive her of her share of water". 13 But they rejected his statement as a lie and hamstrung the she-camel. For that crime their Lord rumbled down upon them, utterly razing them to the ground. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
